For starters, we had never been to SGI, so we have nothing to compare this house to as far as what is on the island. That said, it worked out fine for our group of 12 with grandparents and 2 families with young kids. The house was stocked with most essentials (forgotten scissors would have been nice to find in a drawer for things like frozen kid treats) and a good selection of books and puzzles. The living spaces are comfortable, though I can't understand why owners think that a house for 12 only needs 8 or 9 chairs at the table. When a 4 and a 5 year old fell off barstools (like dominoes), we made the kids sit at the table and a few adults had to stand up or eat in shifts since the bar was the serving area. The reason I took off a star was that the house was just not top notch. There was a loose piece of a step that could cause someone to trip. The first night there was a small (2+ dozen?!?) infestation of flying ants in the annex/separate building. We went to bed wondering if we'd be covered in the morning; fortunately that was not the case. Upon calling the management, a bug man came out but it was over the 4th of July and was a day or two later. At that point we did not know of the ants that seem to like the corner of the pool area which he could have also sprayed. (Both the bug man and the pool guy said bugs/mosquitoes come with the territory in the area, so that's just a heads up.) Additionally, the internet was out the last 3-4 days. We all just thought it would come back and did not report it until the scheduled *fix* would be for the next guests, so that's on us, But frustrating nevertheless. However, all in all, our stay was very enjoyable. The beach was nice. The kayaks were wonderful for the calm water we had; paddling out to see dolphins and turtles up close was a big winner for our crew! Q: CANCELLATION and RESERVATION CHANGES- Staff S. Posted: 04/24/2024A:For reservations booked in advance (greater than 30 days prior to arrival): You may cancel, change dates, or switch properties within seven (7) days of the contract date with no penalty. Please note: after the seven (7) days, we cannot refund your advance rental payment unless equivalent revenue is generated from another rental customer for the same time period. When your reservation is confirmed, any cancellation, date or property changes will be subject to this policy. If the property re-rents and generates the equivalent revenue, we will refund your advance rental payment, minus a Cancellation Fee of 10% of the published rate.

Guests with Travel Protection Insurance will be directed to contact their insurer. Please note: Collins Vacation Rentals does not refund or reschedule for weather events.
