Summer is the most popular time of the year to visit St. George Island. The temperature is usually in the 80s, so it’s perfect for hitting the beach or the pool. Because there are so many miles of beaches on SGI, you’ll never have a hard time finding a spot. Plus, many of our Collins Vacation Rentals have gorgeous pools for you and your family to enjoy!
The only downsides of coming in the summer are the chance of rain and the fact that you’ll probably have to wait for a table at a restaurant. However, the hustle and bustle of the full island has a great vibe, and you are likely to make some friends as you wait for a table!
You can quickly get a table at a restaurant, and you will have large expanses of beach to yourself. While you might not get a day warm enough to lay out and tan, the beach is still a great place to take walks, ride bikes, or play outdoor games.
Escape the cold north when you take your vacation to St. George Island in the winter! Winter temperatures are usually in the 50s, but getting a few days in the 60s is not uncommon. While this isn’t a good time for those looking for beach days to come, there is still tons to do on the island during the winter. Get outside and enjoy some fresh air with a hike, opt to stay inside, have a day full of watching movies, and play games in your Collins Vacation Rentals.
Spring in St. George Island is another secret season. It’s a great family spring break destination, and the weather starts to warm up again after winter. “April showers bring May flowers” doesn’t apply here; rain is rare and usually only occurs 2-5 days out of the months.
