Good 3/2 beachfront cottage
May Day is a solid, one level beachfront cottage. Its HVAC is good, kitchen appliances all relatively new and in good working order. House has laminate flooring throughout except tile bathrooms (no nasty carpet, yay!). It’s adjacent to the 7th Street public boardwalk so there is the reality of dealing with more beach traffic directly in front of house at beach as opposed to a property located near center between two public boardwalks. Fish cleaning station is a plus as is doggo friendly for pet parents. Living areas are spacious for a 3/2 because of layout. Carport helps keep 2 cars cool. Great location
The house is a little dated, but the "on the beach location" with a full house glass wall view of the beach is great. Really like the small raised deck behind the house leading to a private entry to beach. Very good place to stay. Only issue was the ceiling fans in the 1st bedroom and the master bedroom, they need work. We have stayed on the island for the last 16 years, we always stayed at Summer Place, but it sold this year so we had to find a different house. Collins was so helpful and understanding in the search. We ended up at May Day. It is wonderful. Large windows, on the water, great sun room and deck. Great House!
We had an amazing time at May Day! The location and beach access to this house is perfect. There's also the very convenient outdoor shower and bathroom. The beds were ok but that might be our personal preference. There was plenty of seating for dining and the living room furniture was COMFORTABLE which is super important to us when renting a house. The kitchen was well stocked. Only con would probably be in the shared bathroom the sink is directly in front of the toilet which made it difficult for my Mom, but my young daughter thought it was hilarious that she could brush her teeth while sitting on the toilet LOL Overall this is a great house! 10/10 Recommend- Anonymous U , Posted: 06/12/2024Thank you for taking the time to leave a review! Q: CANCELLATION AND RESERVATION CHANGES- Staff S. Posted: 07/01/2024A:For reservations booked in advance (greater than 30 days prior to arrival): You may cancel, change dates, or switch properties within seven (7) days of the contract date with no penalty. Please note: after the seven (7) days, we cannot refund your advance rental payment unless equivalent revenue is generated from another rental customer for the same time period. When your reservation is confirmed, any cancellation, date or property changes will be subject to this policy. If the property re-rents and generates the equivalent revenue, we will refund your advance rental payment, minus a Cancellation Fee of 10% of the published rate.
For reservations booked within 30 days of arrival: You may cancel, change dates, or switch properties on the same day of the booking. Please note: after your booking date, we cannot refund your rental payment unless equivalent revenue is generated from another rental customer for the same dates. When your reservation is confirmed, any cancellation, date or property changes will be subject to this policy. If the property re-rents and generates the equivalent revenue, we will refund your rental payment, minus a Cancellation Fee of 10% of the published rate.
Refunds will be issued in the same form the payment was made. Please note: credit card refunds will be issued to the same card the payment was received (including gift cards).
Your reservation will be cancelled if you fail to arrive within 24 hours of arrival date, unless you have notified our office previously. Guests with Travel Protection Insurance will be directed to contact their insurer. Please note: Collins Vacation Rentals does not refund or reschedule for weather events.
