Love the Heron’s Nest
This house is so different from most Florida homes. The architecture is really interesting, there is attention to detail in every part of this home. The kitchen is so well equipped, it was easy to create wonderful seafood meals with the fish my husband caught. And the walk to the beach is minimal. The upstairs bedrooms are lofted. Our young grandchildren visited and it was not a problem for them to sleep. We will definitely return to this home.

Great Property!
We loved our time at The Heron’s Nest! Such an interesting design and comfortable setting. You could tell that whoever built the home had a vision of exactly what they wanted, and were meticulous in making sure it happened. It is not your typical beach house, and I love that! It is an older property, but very well kept and built to last. The loft style bedrooms upstairs could be an issues for some, but we thought it added to the uniqueness of the house. LOVED the kitchen and it was well stocked with what you need to cook. Very convenient to the beach. The dishwasher was not working when we arrived. I called Collins Vacation Rentals and I was blown away with how quickly they responded with both maintenance and a appliance specialist arriving within a short period of time. I also had to call housekeeping after we returned home due to my daughter leaving something behind. Super quick response and they went out of their way to look for and find what we had left. I had an excellent experience working with this property management company and would highly recommend anyone use them when renting on St. George Island, and I look forward to our next visit to The Heron’s Nest!

Great house
This was a great house. It was very secluded and private. It had everything that we needed. The only complaint that I have is that the washing machine was broken when we arrived. I called 3 times that week, but no one ever came to repair it. A washing machine is a must have for a beach trip. The rental place did offer us laundry services, and we finally did have to take advantage of that due to the fact that a repairman never showed up. I would definitely go back there. It is a beautiful place.

Heron’s Nest
We chose the Heron’s Nest for my 40th birthday celebration with friends and family. The house was large, clean, beautiful, and comfortable. The walk along the path to the beach was easy and quick. One heads up; the house is loft style and not very private regarding sound. Be aware :)

Beautiful, Unique House
Heron’s Nest is a very unique home situated amongst the lush vegetation in Plantation. The house was clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen had any supplies you might need. We enjoyed sitting on the deck, and the easy walk to the beach. We also enjoyed looking at the photos from when the house was built. The pictures online do not reflect the latest updates, mainly in the bathrooms. Thank you for a great stay. Joe, Cindy, and Isabella

A beautiful home away from home!
Our family loved staying at Heron's Nest, the house was beautiful, clean, and well decorated. We enjoyed the short walk to the beach where the beach was clean and uncrowded. The customer service was perfect as well!

Unique home feels like a vacation retreat
Wonderful open floor plan with soaring ceilings. Japanese shoji screens for doors and amazing criculation on both floors! Feel like you living in the trees. Great path to beach and not far from the bay access.

"Thank you for your 5 star rating.  We are thrilled you love our beautiful home and our location as much as we do. We do hope to host you again. Please always feel free to contact Collins Vacation Rentals directly with any concerns you have. All windows and doors were replaced last fall. A service repair technician has been contacted to repair the trim on that one particular window, but we have a 6 month wait list on repairs. We have been assured it is just decorative and does not affect the functionality of the windows. The sliding glass door lock was checked and it works perfectly fine we suspect there was something in the track that prevented it from closing all the way. We are so glad these minor things did not affect your stay."

Second visit to Heron’s Nest
We love this place! It has an airy, calming feel and we love the view of the slash pines and oak hammocks, etc., around the house. The walk to the beach is so nice (and the beach is too, of course). Some folks may feel that the loft bedrooms don’t allow for enough privacy or sound control, but the setup is fine for our family of 3.
