A Great Escape
This house has the perfect name - because it definitely is a great escape. The place is perfect, especially with all the updates over the years. My husband and I have been coming down to St. George over the past 35+ years. Over these years we have had three Wire Fox Terriers at different times and all three have been at your house. After a day at the beach we love to sit out on the beautiful deck and still get to enjoy the beach view. And we love each morning to walk to the State Park - so quiet and peaceful. Beautiful home - highly recommend and the employees at Collins are the best, so friendly and accommodating to meet all your needs!

WONDERFUL VACATION
This was our first time at A GREAT ESCAPE and our first time on St George Island. It was the most relaxing place to stay! The house was so clean and beautifully decorated. Loved waking up to an unobstructive view of only the beach with the tranquility of water and the sound of waves! We saw tons of dolphins every day. Lots of games to play and we spent time painting seashells with acrylic paint that was provided. Another nice added touch was the motion lights on the steps leading up to the house, it provided extra security and safety. The deck was wonderful with lots of seating. Some of the furniture will excite the Disney lover! Definitely will book again. The island was so quaint and peaceful and the locals were extremely friendly. We enjoyed the local restaurants and shops and all the entertainment it had to offer. We'd recommend A GREAT ESCAPE to everyone!

Best Private Beach Front
We absolutely loved our stay at A Great Escape as it is honestly the best beach front place we have found in over 30 years of traveling! We awoke our first morning to find tracks from a mama sea turtle that laid her eggs right in front of the home!!! We also loved fishing in the ocean and even caught a little shark while feeding some smaller fish to a friendly crane right on our beach! We truly enjoyed the small town friendly feel of the island and how nice it was to rent bikes to go shop and get icecream/coffee. What a delight to have less people on the beach than other places we have stayed. My family even commented how surprisingly really comfortable the beds were and having 3 king beds and a bunk bed room really fit our 2 families so well. We appreciated how accommodating the kitchen was to cooking quite a few of our meals while taking in the breathtaking view of the ocean on the veranda. So grateful for all the memories made in this little piece of paradise we were lucky enough to find and can’t wait to come back again!!

A Great Escape
We have been coming to St. George since the 1990’s and the majority of the time has been at The Great Escape. We love all the upgrades the new owners have done over the years. The way the house is on the property it’s very private.

Perfect house perfect location!
This is year 30 Of visiting our family’s favorite island… The kids are grown with families of their own and they still come back when we rent a house on St George Island! This house was perfect layout for the 7 of us and the house is well outfitted with amazing views! We will be back

Relaxing Christmas Vacation
A Great Escape was a wonderful place to spend Christmas with my family. The layout of the house is perfect with a center communal area and a pair of bedrooms and a bathroom on each side of the house that allowed everyone their own space. The house is located right on the beach, and the location is a couple miles away from the island’s main entrance, so it was very peaceful and uncrowded. I can’t wait to return to St. George Island again!

We love this updated house!
A Great Escape has recently been updated and it is fantastic! We had rented it multiple times a few years ago but switched to other houses that were more recently updated. Seeing that the house has been totally redecorated, we rented it again. The owner has totally transformed this house and it is now beautiful! It is bright and airy. The furnishings have all been replaced since we last rented it. The king beds are very comfortable, the TV's are excellent and we could not have been happier.

A Great Escape - Perfect!
Everything was perfect. The house was spotless and the furniture was very comfortable. Most of our time was spent on the deck. With the middle section of the deck being covered we could sit out anytime of day and have shade if we wanted. I cannot say enough good things about this house. The location was great and we had a most enjoyable stay. I highly recommend A Great Escape and Collins Vacation Rentals!!

Perfect Beach House!
First time to SGI with our family. What a gem this island is and what a perfect beach house A Great Escape is! The location cannot be beat! Steps to the beach and being as far east as the house is, the beach is so incredibly uncrowded! We felt like we had our own private beach. House was spotlessly cleaned and check in and check out were a breeze. Our family loved everything about this vacation and this house.
