SGI Beach Home Tour 02/03/2012 - 02/04/2012
St George Island

The Beach Home Tour of St. George Island will begin with a Friday evening reception at the Lighthouse Keepers House, which may be preceded by a presentation on the history and architectural style of St. George Island. On Saturday, 10-12 island homes will be open to members of the public who have tour tickets. The homes will span the range of SGI properties, including homes on the East End, in the Gulf Beaches area, and in the St. George Plantation. Tour tickets will be priced at $15.00.     Franklin County's winter visitors are invited to spend the day on St. George Island. All are welcome to participate!
    Events will include a raffle "run" to the local businesses, fishing tournament, lighthouse climb, state park entry and hike, island tour, bridge walk, bingo, a visit to the new Estaurine Nature Center, and dinner with a cash bar.

SGI Charity Chili Cook-Off 03/03/2012 - 03/03/2012
St. George Island

Sanctioned by the International Chili Society, over sixty contestants square off at the Gulf Coast Regional Chili Cook-off on St. George Island. The winner of what is the largest regional chili cook-off in the nation advances to the world championship and all proceeds benefit the St. George Island Volunteer Fire Department and First Responder Unit. Activities include a golf tournament, 5K Red Pepper Run, Chili Cook-off, Auction, and the naming of Miss Chili Pepper and Mr. Hot Sauce. An estimated crowd of 5,000 people attended last year - we invite you to be a part of this great event this year!
